Everyone is born with their own natural colors —hair color, eye color, and skin tone.
<Color Analysis NYC in MYCOLOR Studio>
Color analysis is a professional process that identifies the colors most harmonious to your natural features — such as your skin tone, eye color, and hair shade.
By discovering your personal color palette, you can choose clothing, makeup, and accessories that enhance your natural radiance and create a balanced, confident appearance.
Stop wasting money on colors
that don’t work for you.
Discover the shades that make your complexion look clearer, your features more defined, and your style more effortless — through professional in-person color draping.

Absolutely — and honestly, it's a great way to start exploring. Online tools and AI apps can spark curiosity about your season and get you thinking about color in a new way.
That said, there's a reason people come in after trying them.
Smartphone cameras are built to flatter. They automatically adjust white balance and smooth out skin tone depending on the light around you — which means the image the app is reading isn't quite the same as what's actually in front of the mirror. Lighting conditions, camera angle, and even the color of the room you're in can all shift the result.
In the studio, we work under controlled lighting around 5000K–5500K — close to natural daylight — and place real fabric drapes directly under your face. That's when the differences become visible: how your skin reacts to warm versus cool tones, whether fine lines soften or sharpen, whether your eyes brighten or flatten. These are things a camera image simply can't capture.
Think of it this way: online analysis is a fun, educated guess.
Coming in is how you confirm it.

You want to look more polished for work, interviews, dating, events, or everyday life.
You often buy makeup that looks beautiful in the package but not on your face.
You feel like some colors make you look tired or washed out.
You want to build a wardrobe that feels more intentional.
You are preparing for a new season, new job, wedding, photoshoot, or personal reset.
You want professional guidance instead of guessing from online quizzes or AI apps.

Color analysis is a form of image consulting. It is not only about finding “colors that look good on you,” but also about understanding how your colors can shape the impression you make in different situations.
Color can play a bigger role than many people realize, especially in moments where first impressions matter — such as job interviews, business meetings, dates, parties, and important social events. The right colors can make your complexion look clearer, your facial features more defined, and your overall image more polished and confident.
People often form an impression of you before you even speak, based on your appearance, style, and overall presence. Research also suggests that when people have a positive first impression, they are more likely to assume other positive qualities as well.
Now imagine yourself standing in front of the mirror. Your outfit is well styled, your hair is polished, your makeup looks natural and balanced, and you are wearing colors that make your face look brighter and more alive.
That kind of confidence is more than just a feeling. It can help you show up more confidently in important moments. Color analysis can be the starting point for that confidence.

In general, your natural coloring and undertone do not change easily. As you age, especially later in life, your skin brightness, hair color, and overall skin condition may gradually change. However, your natural undertone usually remains consistent for a long time.
The same applies to tanning from summer vacations or outdoor activities. Your skin may temporarily become darker on the surface, but your underlying undertone generally stays the same.
That is why a properly done color analysis can serve as a long-term guide for your makeup, hair color, fashion, and accessory choices.
Instead of guessing again every season or following every new trend, knowing your personal color palette makes shopping and styling much easier.

Yes, they are included.
After your session, you will receive a digital styling guide with recommendations based on your personal color palette, including makeup, fashion, and hair color direction.
Have you ever bought a beautiful clothing item or makeup product, only to realize later that it made your complexion look dull or that you rarely reached for it?
Many shopping mistakes happen not because the product itself is bad, but because the color does not harmonize with your skin tone, eye color, or hair color.
After your color analysis, you will have a clearer understanding of which lip, blush, clothing, and hair color families work best for you. This can help reduce unnecessary purchases and increase the chance of choosing products that truly flatter you.
06
We recommend coming to your session with no makeup, if possible.
Color analysis is based on observing how different colors affect your natural skin tone, redness, dark circles, facial contours, and skin texture. Heavy foundation, strong base makeup, or bold color makeup can cover your true skin tone and may affect the accuracy of the analysis.
Makeup remover will be available at the studio if needed.

The biggest difference between an individual session and a group session is the depth of color draping and the amount of personalized styling time.
In an individual session, we focus entirely on one person. This allows us to test more color drapes and look more closely at your skin tone, hair color, eye color, personal style preferences, and makeup concerns. If you want a more detailed analysis and personalized styling guidance, we recommend the 1:1 session.
A group session is designed to be a fun and interactive experience with friends, partners, family members, or team members. One of the benefits of a group session is that you can see each other’s transformations and notice how different colors change each person’s overall impression.
Because multiple people are analyzed within a set appointment time, a group session may include fewer drapes and less individual styling consultation compared to a 1:1 session. Depending on the timing and group size, certain parts of the session, such as the makeup pouch check, may be shortened or omitted.
Session duration
Individual session: up to approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes
Group session for 2–4 people: up to approximately 2 hours
If you prefer a deeper, more personalized analysis, we recommend the individual session. If you want to enjoy the experience together while discovering your colors, the group session is a great option.
