That said, there's a reason people come in after trying them. Smartphone cameras are built to flatter. They automatically adjust white balance and smooth out skin tone depending on the light around you — which means the image the app is reading isn't quite the same as what's actually in front of the mirror. Lighting conditions, camera angle, and even the color of the room you're in can all shift the result. In the studio, we work under controlled lighting around 5000K–5500K — close to natural daylight — and place real fabric drapes directly under your face. That's when the differences become visible: how your skin reacts to warm versus cool tones, whether fine lines soften or sharpen, whether your eyes brighten or flatten. These are things a camera image simply can't capture. Think of it this way: online analysis is a fun, educated guess. Coming in is how you confirm it.

However, your natural undertone usually remains consistent for a long time. The same applies to tanning from summer vacations or outdoor activities. That is why a properly done color analysis can serve as a long-term guide for your makeup, hair color, fashion, and accessory choices. Yes, they are included. After your session, you will receive a digital styling guide with recommendations based on your personal color palette, including makeup, fashion, and hair color direction. Have you ever bought a beautiful clothing item or makeup product, only to realize later that it made your complexion look dull or that you rarely reached for it? Many shopping mistakes happen not because the product itself is bad, but because the color does not harmonize with your skin tone, eye color, or hair color. After your color analysis, you will have a clearer understanding of which lip, blush, clothing, and hair color families work best for you. This can help reduce unnecessary purchases and increase the chance of choosing products that truly flatter you.

We recommend coming to your session with no makeup, if possible. Color analysis is based on observing how different colors affect your natural skin tone, redness, dark circles, facial contours, and skin texture. Heavy foundation, strong base makeup, or bold color makeup can cover your true skin tone and may affect the accuracy of the analysis. Makeup remover will be available at the studio if needed.

The biggest difference between an individual session and a group session is the depth of color draping and the amount of personalized styling time. In an individual session, we focus entirely on one person. This allows us to test more color drapes and look more closely at your skin tone, hair color, eye color, personal style preferences, and makeup concerns. If you want a more detailed analysis and personalized styling guidance, we recommend the 1:1 session. A group session is designed to be a fun and interactive experience with friends, partners, family members, or team members. One of the benefits of a group session is that you can see each other’s transformations and notice how different colors change each person’s overall impression. Because multiple people are analyzed within a set appointment time, a group session may include fewer drapes and less individual styling consultation compared to a 1:1 session. Depending on the timing and group size, certain parts of the session, such as the makeup pouch check, may be shortened or omitted.
